The back is solid state so there are no moving parts. The CCD sensor does not have a lifespan and will continue producing the same image quality.
Tethering via Firewire is no longer supported on the latest version of Capture One 21 (version 14.2). This is due to a new SDK driving the tethering, which applies to Windows operating systems as well.
